Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) will use geospatial call routing to connect a 9-1-1 caller with the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) that services that calling location. To achieve this, an accurate and up-to-date GIS database that meets the NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model developed by the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) is required. Do you know how well your database will perform?
Esri Canada has released the free NG9-1-1 GIS Validator online app to assist Canadian municipalities in meeting Canada’s new location data requirements for 9-1-1. This service was purpose built at the request of municipalities through the CRTC Emergency Services Working Group (ESWG). It lets authoritative data providers take the first step in quickly comparing their GIS data to the NENA specifications.
Join this webinar to see the Validator in action and learn how you can get access to it.
Also, hear from Robert Harris, Geomatics Manager at NB911 and ESWG representative about how the Validator supports municipalities in making the transition to NG9-1-1.
This webinar is designed for GIS managers responsible for providing authoritative public safety data for 9-1-1.
