Connecting our Community: The Digital Modernization of Public Health

Wed, May 11, 2022

Virtual Seminar | Language: English | 12:00 - 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time

Throughout the pandemic, Canada’s public health community embraced digital solutions to collect and integrate data, perform evidence-based analyses, and visualize insights for decision-makers and the public. Going forward, how can we continue to leverage technical innovations and new data sources for our broader public health systems? And more importantly, how can we adapt these innovations to connect our public health community and reduce health inequity?

In this virtual seminar, we will define and explore the digital modernization of Canada’s public health system. You’ll hear perspectives from industry leaders in the domain and success stories from Canadian public health analysts working on the ground, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a series of presentations, lightning talks, and a panel discussion, you’ll gain a better understanding of new sources of data, opportunities for data sharing and access, innovations in analytics tools, and examples of GIS and location intelligence applied to public health.
