The 5th bi-annual conference on GIS in Education and Research was held at Hart House, University of Toronto on March 1st, 2023.
This year’s event was held as a 1-day in person conference with the intention of re-establishing this highly successful gathering. The day featured research paper presentations from higher education and hands-on workshops run by Esri Canada staff focused on advanced aspects of Esri software use.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Trisalyn Nelson, Professor, Department Chair, and Jack and Laura Dangermond Chair of Geography at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB). This presentation can be viewed below.
This low-cost conference was intended to facilitate community building by sharing GIS teaching and research work among academics, students, and K-12 teachers.
