Session Overview

To keep citizens safe, readiness for Next Generation 9-1-1 is critical. Readiness requires good data, collaboration, and a plan. Multiple stakeholders need to work towards the same goal ahead of the transition in 2025.

Completing an NG9-1-1 Readiness Assessment is a good first step… but a successful transition must be followed by a plan of action. Learn what changes the City of Edmonton and York Region have made since they completed an NG9-1-1 Readiness Assessment and how they are acting on those findings.

Key Points

  • Develop your NG9-1-1 action plan
  • Learn what other organizations are doing to prepare for the transition
  • Collaborate more with your key stakeholders and data creators (PSAPs, responders, lower-tier municipalities, neighbours)
  • Getting buy-in from your organization
  • Identify future pain points in your transition to NG9-1-1
