    Free and easy access to detailed, accurate and high performance online community basemaps that users within and outside your organization can leverage to develop innovative GIS applications.

    Eliminates duplication of effort as contributors do not have to spend time developing their own high quality basemaps. The Community Map of Canada is available as an ArcGIS for Server map cache, allowing you to publish it in your own web applications and services.

    Promotion of your organization’s valuable GIS work. Your organization will be included in the list of contributing data providers in ArcGIS Online.

The Community Map of Canada Contributors web map displays the locations for all municipalities, upper-tier municipalities, universities, and provincial, federal or other private organizations that are contributing authoritative data to the Community Map of Canada program.

How do I participate?

Participating is easy! There are several ways:

  • Provide your data via an open data site
  • Sign a data sharing agreement and provide us your data via a map package shared to a private ArcGIS Online group
  • Sign an agreement and provide us with access to your REST services.
